Get To Know Coron Island In This Super Ultimate Day Tour
It’s time to explore the sleeping giant Coron in this Super Ultimate Day Tour! One of the favourite places I visited ever and one that left a great impression on me. The island was a real Philippine gem so magical and pure. I was able to leave my stress and worries in the city with its beauty and relax. Day 2 was all for Coron in this really good tour named Super Ultimate Tour.
This was the tour I did on my second day in my Coron 3 days trip. This sleeping giant is a very famous island destination for all water activities like diving and snorkeling, white sand beaches, and the infamous twin lagoon. You can do all those in this tour no problem.
Coron Super Ultimate Day Tour
The Coron Super Ultimate Day Tour is an all day tour stars from 8:00 – 8:30 AM where you will get picked up from your accommodation. You will also get dropped off back to your accommodation after the tour.
When you arrive at the port, there will be boat waiting to take you Coron island. The boat ride to the island takes about 2 hours. boat ride going around the island and the surrounding waters. It takes 2 hours from the Coron port to the actual island. Once you’re on the island, all destinations will be quick boat rides for around 15 minutes.
The tour was very organized and punctual. The amount of time to spend in each destination was enough to enjoy the activities and highlights. By the way, this is not a paid advertisement or anything of sort. I just want to share with you my experience and this tour happen to be the best one to get to know all of Coron. Hope you will do the same tour when you visit!
The price per person varies depending on the number of people. It will be less per person if you have more people in your group. For four people, it was PhP 2,650/pax (~69 CAD/ ~55 USD). Here is a quick access link for the tour for you to book and get more details.
Kayangan lake
The first stop was to see the cleanest lake of the Philippines, the Kayangan Lake. You’ll take stairs up a view deck to take photos of the lake from above and then you can go swim and snorkel on the take one you’re done.
It’s so pretty. I could not believe my eyes how pretty this lake is. Specially from the view deck and see everything. The waters surrounded by the tall limestones rocks.
Barracuda Lake
Barracuda Lake is right beside Kayangan Lake only steps away from each other. I spent most of my time in this lake than Kayangan. Dipped and swam the turquoise waters. I was taking in everything around me because it’s so scenic. You can kayak on the lake too.
Beach 91
After a good swim, it’s time for lunch. The lake segments of the tour finished at around 11:15 am and on to Beach 91 for amazing authentic Filipino food. What a dream to eat on white sands beach. I kayaked after eating then relaxed and siesta under the sun. The tour pretty much gave a lot of time to spend here so you can re-energize yourself for Coron’s waters and marine life.
After lunch, it’s time to digest and deep dive into Coron waters to see the life down under. Three destinations that took about 2 hours to do proven that Coron is a great destination for diving and snorkeling.
Skeleton Wreck
First was the Skeleton shipwreck site. It is a Japanese WWII ship and over time has flourished to be home to corals and marine life. Water so clear that I could see it from snorkeling. Sadly I did not have diving gear but still fortunate to have snorkeling gear. I was in the water destinations for a good 30 minutes and saw very vibrant and colourful corals underwater.
On a personal level, the afternoon activities challenged me to step out of my comfort zone. I am not a swimmer and they were all water activities. The fact that Coron is famous for its marine life so I went to the waters. Snorkel the Japanese sunken shipwrecks, coral reefs and schools of fishes.
Malwawey Reef Coral Garden
From the shipwreck, it was another 15 minutes boat ride to Malwawey Reef Coral Garden to see underwater coral reef garden. I was lots of Nemos, Dorys in their natural habitat. We spent a good 45 minutes here looking at marine life.
Siete Pecados Marine Park
More beautiful marine scenes at Siete Pecados Matine Park. Siete Pecados is Spanish that translates to 7 sins. The name comes from Coron legendary folkore of seven sisters that swam in these water disobeying their mother. They sinned and met an unfortunate ending resulting to the 7 islets here today. The park has very rich corals and reefs and there’s so much marine life. You’ll see schools of fishes so close swimming with you.
Twin Lagoon
Finally, the place everyone was waiting to see. The main attraction of the sleeping giant – the Twin Lagoon!!! What I’m also excited to see. It’s so pretty and feels amazing to be surrounded with giant rock limestones. I feel so fresh and hidden like I’m no one can see me because it’s so secluded.
Sadly when I went here in 2018 I wasn’t equipped with any waterproof camera or adventure gadgets. Nor did I have waterproof phone case lanyard for my device. Good thing my relative did so I am happy to have some souvenir photos. The views were absolutely breath-taking and I was living in the moment! You didn’t know such nature scene existed. You are going to enter a cave-like entrance and its super hidden. Then out of nowhere you’ll see a very turquoise lagoon where I stayed for a good one hour.
